About the group
The Concrete Bunnies is the group of sound and poetry that met up in the winter of 2005 in Vilnius, Lithuania. It consists of three permanent performers: Tomas S. Butkus, Antanas Dombrovskij and Vadimas Korotajevas. In 2007, the Concrete Bunnies wrote “Maracana”, an audio-poetic opera for the program “Vilnius European Capital of Culture 2009”. The program was meant to present their opera in the wasteland of the Millenium Stadium. However, the start of the rehearsals coincided with the start of construction works, so the opera moved to the former “Dinamo” stadium and in 2008, the band released their first CD on the basis of the rehearsal material. Their second album, called “Dievas-daiktas / Live” (“God-thing / Live”) presented the most characteristic pieces from the concerts held in 2007-2009. Ten compositions were recorded in Lithuania and Germany. The third CD "III" released in the end of 2012.

The Concrete Bunnies continue to hold irregular concerts in the open and close spaces in Lithuania and other countries. Each of their shows is different due to different spaces, the audience and the psychological or emotional context, so actually, every performance of the group is the one and only. In their music sessions, Tomas S. Butkus, Antanas Dombrovskij and Vadimas Korotajevas have been using live instruments, sound machines, occasionally found items, as well as the possibilities of the human voice, the movement and improvisation. It might be said that the Concrete Bunnies are playing ambient, live electronics, low-fi, urban folk and sound poetry. Their music fits into the category of visual sound poetry that Giedrius Kupreviius, a famous lithuanian composer, calls by a witty term diarrhea / free music (d-fm).
